MOBILE EOD VAN

Mobile EOD Van is a purpose built Explosive Ordnance Disposal operations response vehicle designed by unival group to provide a protected, self-contained base for EOD missions. It combines mobility, mission control, and specialist fit out in one platform, enabling detection support, surveillance, neutralization support, and field communications in a controlled working environment.

The vehicle is built on a commercial panel van chassis, typically in high roof configurations, and can be adapted to mission requirements through either a modular interior compartment system or fixed interior furnishing. The rear compartment is designed as a working and coordination space with a two person operator console, dual displays, control interfaces, power outlets, and provisions for communications equipment.

To support field operations, the vehicle integrates independent power generation, auxiliary power, cable reels, and external power outputs for equipment deployed at the scene. A roof mounted telescopic mast with lighting and a long range PTZ camera supports standoff observation and area illumination. Surround cameras provide close range situational awareness around the vehicle.

Dedicated storage and deployment provision for an EOD robot, including a ramp, enables rapid robotic deployment without reconfiguring the workspace.

Optional configurations can include modular armoring concepts and additional detection equipment integrations depending on the required mission profile.

MOBILE EOD VAN

Operational Capability Overview

Purpose, Application, and Risk Environment

Purpose: Mobile EOD Van is deployed to provide a mobile operational base for EOD teams, supporting safe mission coordination, equipment handling, observation, and controlled communications during incident response.

Application Environments: Suitable for incident response in urban and remote areas, critical infrastructure protection, public events, border and transport routes, and any location where EOD teams require a self-contained operational platform and rapid deployment capability.

Operational Risk Context: EOD missions often involve uncertain threat conditions, limited time to establish control, and the need to operate at safe distance while maintaining visibility and coordination. Without a mobile base, teams can face delayed setup, reduced situational awareness, and fragmented communications. Mobile EOD Van centralizes key functions into one platform to support safer, more structured operations on scene.

Technical Overview

TECHNOLOGY CLASSES WITHIN MOBILE EOD VAN

Mobile EOD Vans generally fall into several configuration classes. These are not tied to a single product, but describe typical build approaches used for EOD response vehicles:

Modular compartment EOD vans

Rear compartment built around removable modules and rail systems to allow reconfiguration, upgrades, and maintenance access.

Fixed fit out EOD vans

Permanent cabinetry and consoles custom fitted to the vehicle for maximum durability and long term operational use.

Command console and communications oriented EOD vans

Configured around operator workstations, radios, network connectivity, and workflow coordination for incident response leadership and mission control.

Robotics and equipment deployment oriented EOD vans

Built with dedicated robot storage, deployment ramps, tool storage, and external power distribution to support rapid field deployment of specialist equipment.

Protected EOD vans with optional armoring concepts

Configured with protection packages and related integration planning where higher protection levels are required by the mission environment.
